About the role

Oban Academy is building a future-focused technology practice that uses Artificial Intelligence, data analytics and automation to solve real-world challenges. We’re looking for a talented Python Developer with a passion for AI, machine learning and intelligent automation.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Python-based applications and services.
  • Build AI-powered solutions, intelligent assistants and automation tools.
  • Design and implement data processing and analytics pipelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Support AI research, experimentation and prototype development.
  • Integrate machine learning and Generative-AI capabilities into digital products.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Support client-facing projects and solution demonstrations when required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of Python development.
  • Strong understanding of Python programming principles.
  • Experience with APIs, data processing and backend development.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Git and Agile methodologies.

Preferred skills

  • AI / ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn or LangChain.
  • Generative-AI technologies and Large Language Models.
  • Data visualisation and analytics tools.
  • Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Automation, scripting and workflow orchestration.
