Effective from July 2026.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Oban Academy website at obanacademy.com (the “website”). The website is operated by Oban (Mauritius) Ltd (“Oban”, “we”, “us” or “our”), incorporated in Mauritius with its registered office at Oban House, 6 Cossigny Avenue, Quatre Bornes, Mauritius, and part of the NiS Africa group. By using the website you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Oban Academy provides middle-office finance process outsourcing: dedicated teams who carry out defined operational tasks for our clients, using the clients’ own systems and under their direction. We do not hold client funds, and we have no authority to release payments, execute trades or approve transactions — those authorities remain with our clients at all times.
Nothing on this website is, or should be taken as, financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal or regulatory advice, nor a recommendation or an offer to enter into any transaction. The website describes our services in general terms only; the scope of any engagement is set out in the separate written agreement we enter into with each client.
We take reasonable care to keep the information on the website accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, up to date or free from error, and we may change it at any time without notice. You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything on the website without taking your own professional advice.
You may use the website for lawful purposes and to find out about Oban and our services. You must not misuse it — for example by attempting to gain unauthorised access to it, introducing malicious code, interfering with its operation, or using it in any way that infringes the law or the rights of others.
The website features Maya, an AI assistant powered by Anthropic’s Claude language models, which generates responses automatically and in real time. As with any generative-AI system, her replies can occasionally be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong; they are provided for general guidance only, and are neither advice nor a binding statement on our behalf. Please do not rely on Maya for anything important, verify anything that matters with us directly, and do not enter sensitive or confidential information into the chat. How conversations are handled is set out in our Privacy Policy.
The website and its contents — including text, graphics, layout, the Oban Academy name, the “O” and thistle mark, and other logos and trademarks — are owned by or licensed to Oban and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view the content and print or download extracts for your own reference, but you may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, distribute or exploit it commercially without our prior written consent. The names and marks of the NiS Africa group and of third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
The website may link to third-party websites, including other companies within the NiS Africa group. We provide these links for convenience only; we do not control those sites and accept no responsibility for their content, availability or privacy practices, and a link does not imply our endorsement.
We aim to keep the website available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of it, for operational or other reasons, without notice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oban will not be liable for any loss or damage — whether direct, indirect or consequential, including loss of profit, business, goodwill or data — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the website, or your reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or cost arising from your misuse of the website or your breach of these terms.
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the website, are governed by the laws of Mauritius and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mauritius. If any provision is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
We may amend these terms from time to time by posting the updated version on this page. Your continued use of the website after a change takes effect indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page.
